Obituary for Bennie J. Maddocks

Bennie J.  Maddocks
Bennie Joe Hilt Maddocks, 47, formerly of Appleton and currently of Texas, passed away on August 16, 2018 after an automobile accident in Tyler, Texas.

Bennie was born on June 23, 1971 to Dudley Maddocks and Lorraine M. Watts. He grew up in Burkettville and Union area and attended local schools in Appleton. He graduated from Camden High School in the Class of 1989. After graduation he attended the University of Maine in Augusta.

Bennie owned and operated Rainbow Farms Landscaping, was a truck driver for many years travelling the countryside for Land Air Express, Hirschbach Motor Lines and Crete Carrier-Shaffer Trucking. In his youth he enjoyed working in the woods with his father’s skidder. Bennie had a very big heart, was a clown, was always happy, was a “teaser” and loved his dogs. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved deer hunting on the farm during the fall. Bennie carried and read his bible and daily book every day. Bennie loved music , especially rock, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews, Lynnard Skynard, Johnny Cash and Vince Gill. He had many friends

He was predeceased by his father Dudley Maddocks and his grandmother Genevieve Watts.

Bennie is survived by, his mother, Lorraine Hilt of Waldoboro, his companion Susan Coop of Kaufman, Texas, brother Jesse Hilt of Augusta, his sisters Coco Hilt of Waldoboro, Dede Darling of Searsmont, his brother Ricky Hilt of Farmington, his sister Vicki Harris of Tennessee, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held for Bennie at a date and time to be announced.

Bennie's family wishes to thank First Responder Police Officer Jose Zaragoza from the Canton County Texas Police Department, Officer James Wilson from the Waldoboro Police Department and the Doctors and Nurses of Trinity Hospital in Texas for all of their help and assistance with Bennie Joe.
