Obituary for Damir Augusta

Damir Augusta
Damir Michael Augusta, 19, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 22 at the ocean near his home. Born in Kazakhstan on February 25, 1997, Damir was adopted by Barbara Boardman and Chris Augusta in June 2000 and made his new American home at their farmstead in Waldoboro. Raised with chickens, ducks, misc. critters and his beloved dogs, Damir loved his peaceful Maine environs, his family and friends. Everyone who met him felt fortunate to know this quiet, generous, sweet, introspective and wonderful boy.

He took great pleasure in snowboarding, skateboarding, swimming and hanging with his friends. It was a gift to have known him and to be blessed by one of his infectious smiles.

Damir attended the Riley School in Glen Cove during grammar school and recently graduated from the Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro.

Damir loved to build things and excelled in woodworking and carpentry. He also loved to cook and recently worked part time at Harvest Moon Pizza and at N.C. Hunt as well as for many of his neighbors.

Damir is survived by his parents, fourteen aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins around the country and his many friends.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held for Damir on Wednesday July 27, 2016 from 4PM to 7PM at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held at a future date.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle in memory of Damir, or to share a story or picture, please visit his Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
