Grandpa Reed

I am so grateful to have so many memories of Grandpa, but there is one thing that many of my memories have in common...yummy food! Many hours were spent visiting around the kitchen table, with Grandpa always in "his" chair (ironically closest to the refrigerator). It never took long before the many options of Schwann's ice cream were placed on the table, or the candy bowl which always appeared bottomless thanks to Grammie. But more importantly were the conversations that took place while eating all the sweets. I always enjoyed listening to his stories and will forever chuckle to myself when thinking about how he would ask me if I knew so-and-so or remembered so-and-so. And typically he was talking about a person who was long gone before I could even walk, but it never stopped him from continuing on with the story and it never stopped me from listening intently. Even though I am devastated that he is gone and feel like there are more stories to be told and more ice cream to be eaten, I feel at peace knowing that he will be reunited with Grammie and he will have another audience for his story-telling and an endless supply of Schwann's ice cream! We all miss and love you very much Grandpa!
