Obituary for Joyce M. Linscott

Union – Joyce M. Linscott, 81, died July 23, 2022, at the Crawford Commons in Union Maine. Born in Hope Maine on April 26, 1941, she was one of five children of LaForest and Hattie Creamer Linscott. She was educated in local schools.

Joyce lived with a mental illness for most of her life. She was a colorful character, most recently receiving recognition at the Crawford Commons Nursing Home for “The most talkative and creative talk”.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, zany personality, and infectious laugh. Every now and then she would have profoundly deep thoughts about life that would cause you to ponder. Before being placed at the nursing home, she took turns living with her 2 sisters, Marion and Arlene in Hope. She would spend her days walking to the local store to buy scratch tickets, snacks and cigarettes, returning home to write her daily thoughts and experiences in one of her many journals. We will miss her and accept that she has been released to a higher, more spiritual place in God’s hands.

Joyce was predeceased by her sisters, Marion Merrifield and Ruby Bates. She is survived by her two sisters, Arlene Crabtree of Hope and Annette Porter of Rockport, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug 5th at 1 p.m. at Hope Grove Extension Cemetery in Hope Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Joyce’s name to the Maine Behavioral Health Foundation, MBHF, 295 Water Street, Suite 307, Augusta, ME 04330.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences visit her Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com
