Obituary for George Edward Burgess
January 4th, 2023 at 5:45 in the evening George E. Burgess, 69, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side. George was born on November 21, 1953 to Arthur And Sophie (Wyka) Burgess, he was child six of seven.
George loved his home and was proud to be able to live in the house he was born and raised in. George was truly happiest while on his property. Over the years George ran a foreign car repair shop and a small construction business all of which were based at the homestead in Warren. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease he took a job as a bus driver for MSAD 40. He enjoyed his many years on the bus and would present little treats to the kids on Christmas and the last day of school.
George looked forward to the fall and deer hunting season, where most years he would tag out on the first day. He loved fishing the St. Georges River and always looked forward to the annual Apple Pressing and Haying Parties.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years Mary J, son Benjamin and his wife Jennifer and grandson Pierre.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 22nd beginning at noon at the family homestead at 600 Vaughns Neck Road in Warren.
