Obituary for Cynthia Arlene Neal (Perry)

Cynthia Arlene “Cindy” Neal, 66, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband by her side on August 11, 2023. Cindy was born in Rockland on February 23, 1957 to Carl Perry and Mary McLain Perry. Cindy grew up in Warren and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1975.

Cindy married Larry Neal on July 19, 1975. She worked as a secretary at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston for several years until she retired.

Cindy was diagnosed with MS in the mid 80’s. Cindy did not allow her disability to hold her back. She was determined to do the things she wanted to do and she did with her positive outlook to create art and make personalized photo magnets with beautiful backgrounds that she gave away as gifts to many friends and family. She was an inspiration to her children. She also loved to cook.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Carl “Skip” Perry; stepfather, George Massie.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry A. Neal of Friendship

A memorial service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held on Monday, August 28 at 2pm at Hall Funeral Home,949 Main Street in Waldoboro with a time for visitation directly after the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cindy’s memory may be made to the MS Society, PO Box 91891, Washington DC 20090-1891.
