Obituary for Clara A Reed
Clara Ann Peterson Reed, of Friendship, Maine, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, departed this life on March 16, 2022. Clara was 87 years of age.
Clara will be always loved and deeply missed by her sons, Neal, Kerry, and Brian. Clara will also be missed by her extended family and friends.
Clara was born in St. George, Maine on August 17, 1934, the child of Ina Korpinen and Bjarne Peterson.
Clara attended local schools and graduated with honors from St. George High School, Class of 1952.
She was employed by Osram Sylvania from February 8, 1972, until her retirement on February 10, 1997.
Clara loved spending time with her family as well as knitting, reading, crossword puzzles and watching Westerns.
Clara was predeceased by her parents, husband Wendell A. Reed (2010) and sons Craig Reed (1987) and Barry Reed (1999), sisters Dagmar Robbins and Lily Beckett and brother Bruno Peterson.
Left to cherish her memory are sons Neal Reed and his wife Linda of Friendship, Kerry Reed and his wife Nina of Warren, Brian Reed and his wife Robin of Friendship, and daughter-in-law Dianne Dagget; Sisters, Astrid Weaver of St. George, Ragna Weaver of St. George and Ingrid O’Brien of Martinsville; Grandchildren, Andrew Reed and Megan Reed of Friendship, Daphanie Blackler and companion Mark Elwell of Warren, Carrie Emerson of Friendship, Barry Reed of Friendship, Aaron Reed of New York, Hillary and Shimran Ali of Florida, Olivia and William Shuman of Waldoboro, Taylor and Madonna Reed of Warren, Audrey Hannah (Mike) of Friendship and Dillon Reed and wife Jessica of Friendship; 10 Great Grandchildren; and lifelong friend Nancy Thibadeau.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Brookside Cemetery.
